Education Value of Animoto

Using an Animoto is an excellent way to keep a student's attention. The quick video, with pictures changing and music playing are far from being "boring", which is a constant complaint from students.  My video shows photos of weather and the vocabulary word in English with every photograph. This is an excellent way for students to recognize weather and learn new terms.  Normally students copy the word in English then use a dictionary to look up and copy the translation in Spanish, they despise doing this. However, students love to watch videos and love to view pictures especially students in primary school. For a quality education learning can not end with the school day, Animotos also allows parents to view vocabulary terms and practice with their children promoting learning at home, which is extremely important.  By keeping students engaged and parents informed Animotos are an excellent and "Web 2.0" tool to use in the classroom. Animotos also have a great tutorial video to teach the user the interface of the program. It is nice to feel comfortable using it the first time and ensure that the video will be a success!

Educational Value of Wordle

Wordle's are more than a group of words. They are an educational tool that offer students an interesting way to explore and learn new vocabulary. The students can then research specific aspects of every word. Students will learn what each of these words means and will be able to describe the definition in both English and Spanish. This Worlde is more interesting than a simple list of terms on paper and offers students something different to look at to keep them engaged and motivated to learn new vocabulary.
